Thanks to Paul McM for sharing this amazing article from the New York Times on how the French would ‘hibernate’ for 5 months of the year until quite recently. A lesson to us all in these hectic times!

That’s the best idea Ive heard for years. If we all took that example, and abolished Christmas consumer madness, I wonder how many power stations we could shut down?
