big omnivorous mammals

i link to richard heinberg’s writing a lot – but as he writes so importantly and well i feel compelled to. this week he made me laugh as well:

we humans are all just big omnivorous mammals. Without the ability to make or understand language, we would each get up in the morning and simply start milling around looking for food.
