Our neighbour Patrick loves to go out enjoy the sights and sounds of beautiful West Cork. He likes to gather films and photos of local events but he’s getting older and managing all the digital paraphernalia isn’t easy so I went with him today to capture some film and shots of a local ‘cheval ride’.

The shot above was taken outside the Arundel pub in Ahakista looking out across Dunmanus bay.

My friend Lisa recently introduced me to blipfoto. I’ve been meaning to take a ‘photo a day’ for some time so this seemed like the perfect inspiration to start – here’s my page. I’ll cross post the better photos here with some commentary. With a free account you can only upload one photo per day to blipfoto so if it’s been a good day for photography I’ll post a gallery here.

This shot was taken with my phone on a very wet autumnal walk this afternoon.

so it’s time to develop some exciting ideas for making a bit of money. hopefully enough to keep us in food and clothes. given the state of the irish economy i’m not hoping for much more! there will be news here over the next few months about how these ideas are developing.

fortunately the house is working well and hasn’t blown down yet – so it will make a great base for living simply and reducing our energy and money needs.
